Abstract

While current antiretroviral therapies effectively suppress HIV, they fail to eradicate it because the virus hides in inaccessible anatomical reservoirs like the brain. Nanorobots present a paradigm shift. Engineered at the nanoscale, these systems can cross formidable biological barriers to reach these hidden viral sanctuaries. By utilizing surface targeting ligands to recognize specific markers on infected cells, nanorobots ensure highly selective drug delivery. This precise targeting minimizes systemic toxicity and maximizes therapeutic impact directly at the site of viral activity. Although challenges in scaling and long-term biocompatibility persist, nanorobotics offers a viable path from lifelong viral suppression to complete eradication.
