Bio-informatic Approaches in Agada Tantra: Applications of Omics Data, Network Pharmacology and Computational Toxicology for Poison Management

Agada Tantra, the toxicology branch of Ayurveda, addresses animate and inanimate poisons and includes preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic approaches for toxic exposures.[cite:30] Contemporary toxicology increasingly relies on bioinformatic methods that integrate omics datasets, biological networks, and computational modeling to improve mechanistic understanding and safety prediction.[cite:28][cite:32] This article examines how omics, network pharmacology, and computational toxicology can be adapted to Agada Tantra for precision poison management, antidote discovery, and translational evidence building.[cite:24][cite:32] A narrative integrative methodology is proposed that combines classical Ayurvedic toxicology concepts with toxicogenomics, metabolomics, QSAR, PBPK modeling, and network-based target analysis.[cite:30][cite:28][cite:32] The resulting framework supports earlier hazard identification, better characterization of toxin–host interactions, rational evaluation of multi-component antidotal formulations, and improved prioritization for laboratory and clinical validation.[cite:24][cite:32]
